Firstly, thank you for
visiting this website and for taking the time to read this page. Most
of all, WELCOME! About
The Site
Let me introduce myself. My name is Kevin Skinner
and I live
in one of the most diverse, beautiful and spectacular parts of the
world
- Scotland. All of my images have been inspired by this
landscape
in one shape or form.
Let me explain what this site is about.
The best photographic advice that I ever received was:
"Although
don't forget the technicals, the important part is
capturing what inspired you to stop and look"
It is something that is always in my mind when I am out and about with
my camera.
The main aims of KSK-Creative are to promote the images in the best
possible way that does justice to the beauty that surrounds
me, to
make the visit to this site an enjoyable experience, and to use a
portion of the proceeds from the sale of prints to donate to charity.
Above all, it is about the beauty within the scenes that
Scottish
Landscape wishes to share with the lens.
The website was reviewed by 'Outdoor
Photographer'
magazine in September 2006 and from this feedback, the
layouts
and look of this site has changed several times to achieve the right
balance of feel and layout. It has been in a constant state
of
re-construction (and a lot of de-construction) to gain the right look
and
for the images to be shown in the best way.
The site has finally settled into this format. The images have been
organised into categories and, in some cases, sub-categories for ease
of viewing. Each image is presented as simply as possible
with
the option for the viewer to click on the main image to access more
information
about the scene. This will bring up to the Information Page which gives
the Camera settings and a short narration of my thoughts
and experiences of the image. Some viewers like to know
where the image was captured and for this, there is a link that provides
this
information by opening a Pop-up window that contains a map
(a free link courtesy of Multimap.com) that indicates the position
with a target
circle.
Also within the information, if you wish to buy a print of the image
there are facilities that allow you to buy online (Please see the
Prices & Postage Section for further details).
The
Charity
The nominated charity that will benefit from donations and proceeds
from this website is the Macmillan Cancer Support. Please do
take
the time to visit their website (a link has been provided in the Links
Section) and read the outstanding work that this organisation does both
in their research and support activities. I would ask, by the
end of your
visit to the KSK-Creative website if you have enjoyed your stay, why
not make a donation online (it doesn't matter how small the value is,
it is your action by giving that does) on the Macmillan website? Please
add in the comments of the donation form that you had visited
KSK-Creative. If you decide to buy one of my prints,
you can be
assured that you will be donating as a portion of the proceeds will go
to this charity as well.
Also, there is nothing to stop you doing both!
Feedback
I always appreciate feedback, whether good or bad, in order
to
improve and build this site. Please feel free to contact me
and
leave some comments on your experience through the Contact link.
